🌱 Wallacetown Community Energy Project
Powering Change, Together
The Wallacetown Community Energy Project is a grassroots initiative to create a more sustainable, affordable, and locally controlled energy future for the people of Wallacetown, Ayr. Born from the belief that communities should own the energy they use, the project focuses on energy justice, carbon reduction, and community wellbeing.
Our goals are simple but transformative:
Reduce fuel poverty through affordable, renewable energy solutions
Empower local schools and residents with energy efficiency upgrades
Provide education on sustainability, climate resilience, and green career pathways
Build a local model of community-owned energy infrastructure
Ensure a just transition where no one is left behind.
Working with schools, housing associations, South Ayrshire Council and local volunteers, we pilot practical steps like solar panel installation, heat pump advocacy, home insulation support, and community workshops. At its heart, this project is not just about clean energy — it’s about local power, economic empowerment, and laying the foundation for a net-zero Wallacetown that uplifts everyone.
This is what a fairer, greener Scotland looks like — starting here.
